System Requirements for the Cisco Jabber (also known as Movi):
What is required before installation:
- A Camera installed on your system
- Internet Connection
- User account activated (Please call the Utah Telehealth Network at to activate your account)
Macintosh (Mac) requirements:
- Processor: 2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor or better.
- Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 or later. Make sure to have the latest security updates installed.
- IP network connection: Broadband, LAN, wireless. At least 768 Kbps up and 1.5 Mbps down is highly recommended. Please check with your ISP to determine your speed or visit http://www.speedtest.uen.net/
- Webcam: Most USB cameras will work as well as the built-in iSight.
- Microphone: Most Macintosh Computers have a built-in microphone but will work with any Macintosh compatible microphone.
Windows PC requirements:
- Processor: 2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor or better
- Memory: 1GB RAM or more
- Operating System: Windows XP SP2 or Later, Windows Vista, or Windows 7

- Graphics Card: OpenGL version 1.2 or higher. Hardware support for DirectX 8 or higher
- Sound Card: Any standard sound card (full-duplex, 16-bit or better) should work
- Camera: Designed to support all windows compatible web cameras
- Microphone: Is required. Most Webcams are equiped with built-in mic

Movi uses the following ports:
- unencrypted media UDP 5060 & TCP 5060 both Bi-directional
- encrypted media UDP 5061 & TCP 5061 both Bi-directional
Installation instructions
(IMPORTANT: If you have a previous version of Movi, please un-install it completely. Old setting will remain if the old version remains. )
Windows Install
- Click on the Windows operating system download ftp link above
- Save .zip file to your desktop
- Double click on the .zip file to open
- Click on the “Extract All” link
- Follow the Wizard’s instructions (this will create a new folder on your desktop)
- Open the newly created folder
- Double click on the Movi_Win42_Install.bat file (IMPORTANT: Do NOT click on the MoviSetup4.2.exe)
- Follow the installation instructions
- Launch Movi
- Delete zip folder and extracted folder
Apple Macintosh Install
- Click on the Apple Mac operating system download ftp link above
- The Download window will open with the file
- The Movi Window will open showing the option to move Movi to Applications
- Close the Download window
- Close your web browser. The Movi Window will still be up
- Click and slide Movi to Applications
- Close the Movi Window
- Open Applications and find Movi
- Click on Movi. A warning may appear. Click Open
- Log in using the login and password provided to you
Signing in
- Enter your Username and Password. Call if you are unable to log in.
- Check Remember my Username
- Check Remember my Password
- Click “Sign In”
Adjusting the Audio and Video
- Upon the first login, click Devices, then select your web camera’s microphone for audio input. Click OK.
Placing Calls
- Conference – enter your conference ID and click return
- Example would be 63400 for the test conference.
- Classmates – enter an asterisk and hit return, then select your classmate
- Students should call to validate their Movi installs. We will verify they are able to connect to the bridge and have good video/audio. UTN will also verify the bandwidth the student is connecting at.
The Pop-Up Toolbar
- A toolbar with these buttons will appear when you move the mouse pointer over the video window.
Presentation Sharing
- Click the Presentation button on the video window pop-up toolbar brings up a list of your open application windows. Select any of them to start sharing. To stop, click the same button again, then click Stop sharing presentation.

A. Movi will cost you absolutely nothing. The cost for the Movi client licenses is being covered by the Utah Telehealth Network.
Q. Can I call another person using Movi?
A. Yes you can dial someone by entering their . A person can call you using your .
Q. How can I do a multipoint call with Movi?
A. You can only perform point to point calls. Multipoint is available to you only if you make arrangements with Utah Telehealth to create a conference on the video bridge. Utah Telehealth will then issue you and your other partipants an ID number to call.
Q. My computer does not have a built in camera, what type of camera should I use?
A. All USB cameras work with Movi. The Logitech 9000 and Logitech QuickCam Pro provide a quality experience, broadcasting up to 720p, ~15fps, 4:3 formats.
