Message from the Director

Marta PetersenThe Utah Telehealth Network links hospitals, clinics and health departments from Logan to Montezuma Creek to Vernal to St. George for a variety of services. Patients in rural areas with stroke symptoms are evaluated by University specialists and may receive life-saving medication in their local hospitals. X-rays and CT scans are transmitted to larger centers for evaluation, as many of the smaller rural hospitals don’t have a full-time radiologist. Healthcare providers throughout the region can participate in monthly diabetes lectures without travel.

The Utah Telehealth Network is committed to providing a reliable and secure network with 24/7 coverage. Our staff works closely with network technicians and telehealth coordinators at member sites to ensure that patients can get the care they need, when they need it.

In our second decade, we will increase the capacity of the network to meet the burgeoning demand and increase its reliability and redundancy. We will work closely with our members and partners to promote exchange of health information between providers across the state. These are exciting times for telehealth and we are proud to be at the forefront of this nationwide movement.
